The International Defence Exhibition of Land Forces "MBCB-2006",
organised by the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, was held in Moscow, 2-6 August 2006.
The FSUE "SPLAV" SRPA" has arranged the exposition "Multiple Rocket Launcher Systems" together
with its partner companies, FSUE "NII Poisk" (St.Petersburg) and Public Corporation "Radiozavod" (Penza),
to demonstrate and promote new developments of the military products produced by the FSUE "SPLAV" SRPA"
onto the armament markets.
The mock-ups of the rocket projectiles (RPs) and warheads for the "GRAD", "URAGAN" and "SMERCH" MRLSs
have been demonstrated on the stand of the FSUE "SPLAV" SRPA".
For the first time the mock-up of the RP with angular stabilization for the "GRAD" MRLS, the mock-up
of the new unguided air-launched RPs of the S-8 and S-13 family and the mock-up of the S-8-KOR1 air-launched
laser-guided RP fitted with shaped-charge fragmentation warhead have been demonstrated.
Within the period of the exhibition the meetings with the following potential partners have been carried out:
the Azerbaijan delegation, headed by the Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan; the Byelorussian delegation,
headed by the Deputy Minister of Defence of Belorussia; the Zambian delegation, headed by the Commander
of the Zambian Land Forces; delegation from the China Republic; delegation from the "Ukroboronservice"
State Company; delegation from Tanzania, headed by colonel Mwanamakala M. Killo, Defence Attache of
the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania; delegation from the Headquarters of the Moroccan
Land Forces;
delegation from the People's Democratic Republic of Korea, headed by the Deputy Director, Ku Kwang So.
(Korean Oun Technics Trade Co. Ltd.); delegation from the Polish Research and Production Centre of the
Professional Electronics; delegation from the "Bumar" company; delegation from the Romanian National
Ministry of Defence, etc.

The Russian Splav State Research and
Production Association has unveiled a brand new product at this year's
Imdex UDT Asia exhibition.
The company, which has developed a range of multiple launch rocket systems,
such as the SMERCH and GRAD, for the Russian Army, is offering the RPK-8
MLRS system for navies.
The system has been designed to provide surface vessels with protection
from anti-ship torpedo, submarines and other underwater threats such as
mini submarines.
In addition to the RPK-8, the company is also promoting its UDAV-1M anti-torpedo
ship defence system. The UDAV-1M is also designed to provide counter-measures
a host of sub-surface weapons as well.
Another system being promoted is the shipborne A-22 OGON flame-thrower/
incendiary rocket launcher.
For coastal defence, Splav is offering the DP-62 DAMBA self-propelled
coastal defence MLRS. The DAMBA system has been designed to provide a
countermeasure against enemy underwater sabotage units, mini submarines
and frogmen.
It is also designed to provide anti-sabotage defence at sea bases.

19-24 August, 2003 the 6th International Aviation and Space
Salon took place in the Zhukovsky town, at the airdrome of the Gromov Flight
Research Institute. 
Federal State Unitary Enterprise SPLAV State Research and Production Association
headed by Nicolai A. Makarovets, Hero of Russia, Academician, is a
recognized leader in the MRLS development. Together with its business partners
- leading Russian defence enterprises SPLAV presents the world recognized
highly-effective GRAD and SMERCH Multiple Rocket Launcher Systems together
with the reconnaissance means and Automated Fire Control System. 
Military representatives from more than 20 countries worldwide have shown
an interest to the MRLS developments of the FSUE SPLAV and its business
partners. The negotiations were hold with many of them; the problems of
the military-technical cooperation were discussed there, including the
opportunity of the upgrade of the MRLS that are in the service with many
Armies worldwide. 
Deputy Minister of Defence colonel-general Moskovsky has visited the SPLAV

against a point target with reasonable accuracy and consistency, allowing
fire to be adjusted to correct errors in the fall of shot. However, in
many cases ground targets are distributed over a large area. Multiple-launch
rocket systems (MLRS) are a relatively light, mobile and economical means
to saturate an area target..."

the mock-ups of 9M22U and 9M521
Rocket Projectiles, mock-ups of warheads and submunitions under development,
as well as different advertising information concerning the "Grad"
and the "Smerch" systems. |
